Range – more than 1000 km according to CLTC methodology
Changan has unveiled a new Hunter pickup truck in China, and it has one important feature: this model is the world’s first consistent hybrid in its class. A conventional internal combustion engine is part of the powertrain, but it only charges a traction battery that powers the electric motors.
The generator is a 2-liter gasoline engine with an output of 190 hp. The basic rear-wheel drive version has a 177-horsepower electric motor, while the top version has two electric motors with a total output of 272 hp. All-wheel drive “Hunter” accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
The claimed range on pure electricity is 180 km, maximum range is 1031 km (according to CLTC methodology). There is no data on payload capacity, but it will obviously be less than that of the conventional version with an internal combustion engine.
The design of hybrid Changan Hunter is made in the style of Changan cars of Uni lineup. Dimensions are 5380 × 1980 × 1875 mm with a wheelbase of 3180 mm. But a long-wheelbase version with dimensions of 5630 × 1930 × 1885 mm and a wheelbase of 3430 mm will also be offered.
